Commercial property in Littlehampton

A colourful town by the sea, Littlehampton is a charming place to live and work. With a long stretch of beachfront and a working harbour, it attracts lots of visitors each year and is perfectly set-up for businesses that benefit from being close to the sea. There is currently a population of over 55,700.

Littlehampton is on the south coast in Sussex, between Chichester and Worthing at the mouth of the River Arun. The edge of the South Downs National Park lies just three miles north of the town, adding to its appeal for tourists. For centuries Littlehampton has been used as a fishing port, and in the past, ferries setting sail across the Channel to France used its harbour. Today, most of its commerce is in tourism and retail, and the most notable company with a major base in the area is The Body Shop.

A number of small local roads connect Littlehampton to nearby Worthing, Bognor Regis and Chichester, while the A27 – which is just north of the town – makes it within an hour’s drive of Brighton and Portsmouth. Should you need to get into London, trains will take you to Brighton and up to the capital in well under two hours. Gatwick is the nearest major airport, which is just over an hour away by car and train.

As a working port, Littlehampton is often used for both commercial and leisure boats today. From here, visitors can take a trip on the seas, try out sailing and go angling, while large corporations can arrange a docking for their ships.
