The county of Lincolnshire runs for a considerable length along the east of England, from the border of Cambridgeshire in the south to Yorkshire in the north. As a consequence, Lincoln itself is well connected to the Midlands, the South, the North and the East Coast of England. It sits on the A15 and is a relatively short drive to motorways the M180, the M18, and the major arterial M1 to the west, near Nottingham. East Midlands trains operates numerous services through Lincoln, north, south, east and west, and Northern Rail goes up to Yorkshire and beyond.
