Commercial property in Bootle
Bootle is a town in Merseyside, less than three miles from Liverpool. It was once a small hamlet but grew drastically in the 1800s, becoming what is now a town with a population over 51,000.
Thanks to its close proximity to Liverpool, Bootle has historically benefitted from its neighbouring city’s trading industry. A number of wealthy merchants lived in Bootle and it was generally seen as a bathing resort. Once its own docks were developed, it generated its own industry and had a thriving community. During the Second World War, the docks became a target and were heavily bombed.
Although the docks closed after the war, Bootle is set for big change. Liverpool2 is a £400million investment project that’s working to build a deep-water container terminal with the capacity to hold the largest generation of container ships. It is set to become one of the most modern and efficient terminals in the world, bringing major business to the area.
Bootle enjoys close proximity to Liverpool’s main attractions and conveniences, such as John Lennon Airport. It is also just an hour’s drive from Manchester Airport.
