Darvel is a small town situated within East Ayrshire at the eastern end of the Irvine Valley, and is situated approximately two miles east of Newmilns, three miles east of Galston, nine miles east of Kilmarnock, ten miles west of Strathaven and twenty four miles south of Glasgow.
