Property facts for Mander Centre, Wolverhampton
The redeveloped Mander Centre will provide both existing and new retailers with the opportunity to trade and capitalise on a repositioned and modernised retail destination that will dominate the retail pitch in the city. The Centre benefits from 65 complimentary retailers across 525,000 sq ft of total retail GLA, with 90,000 sq ft of newly configured store opportunities as part of a £25 million investment programme. The Centre boasts a 17 million annual footfall with a 584,000 resident catchment population, and over 23,000 university students within the area.
Already home to a mix of leading retail brands, the stunning new 94,000 sq ft Debenhams opened its doors in October 2017, being the first city centre store following the ‘Debenhams Redesigned’ strategy. H&M, which opened in November 2016 is also one of the largest in the West Midlands and the only one to feature their home range. A raft of new retailers have committed to the scheme, totally 105,000 sq ft. They are One Below, Matalan, Wilko and B&M, who will open between March and November 2019.
The remodeling of the centre has created a great range of new units to complement the anchor store, providing modern retail spaces appropriate for the trading requirements of major multiple retailers. The asset development programme has dramatically enhanced vertical connectivity, customer flows and navigation. Clear sightlines encourage circulation, dwell and improve retail fascia prominence throughout the scheme. Public areas have been modernised and decluttered, and the car park refurbished and improved.
